In the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia, our Telfer gold-copper mine is our fly-in-fly-out operation, comprising both open pits and an underground mine. While at site Telfer offers a diverse range of recreational activities including a gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room and refurbished communal eatery.
Who we’re looking for
The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the management and tracking of site materials for maintenance activities to ensure all parts are available and staged properly for our Telfer Material Management Processes.
The Material Technician provides a key accountable link to between the Business Support Team (Purchasing, Supply & Warehouse teams) and Maintenance Execution Teams.
A few key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Provide support during shutdown execution by resolving critical material issues
- Support the Planning & Maintenance Execution teams regarding material management
- Set up Kitting & Staging areas for materials required for future works
- Consolidate direct purchase parts in a manner which can be easily tracked and audited
- Creation of material master data (SAP) and improvements
You will be safety focused, team oriented, enable and drive continuous improvement and be willing to strive for results. You will need to hold a manual driver’s licence.
Ideally you will also have the following:
- Strong stakeholder and communication skills
- SAP experience desirable
- A high risk / forklift ticket is essential
- Manual C Class Driver’s License
Please note: This is a permanent role that will work on a FIFO (8/6), flying out of Perth.
