We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join as Graduate Trainee: Finance.
This Internship provides practical fresh graduates with hands-on experience with the Global Markets team. At HSBC, we also see this as an opportunity to train and identify fresh graduates for future hiring.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Assist with P&L attribution and analytical review; perform investigation and resolve any exceptions
- Assist with performing intersystem reconciliation; investigation and remediation of any intersystem reconciliation breaks
- Assist with Retail buy-in reconciliation to ensure that all IR / FX risk are transferred to Global Markets and to protect the Bank from taking incorrect hedging positions due to errors in booking or wrong buy-in;
- Assist with day end rates maintenance and any efficiency/enhancement initiatives related to day end rates maintenance
- Assist with daily and monthly balance sheet substantiation process, which includes but not limited to: reconciliation from Primary Trading system to GL, investigating and remediating intersystem reconciliation breaks, monitor aging and ensure clearing of receivables/payables and suspense account
- Assist with management and/or financial reporting via timely preparation of report
- Assist with any other ad-hoc Product Control tasks
Requirements:
- Possess a degree in Accounting or Finance
- High numerical proficiency
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Able to deliver within daily deadlines
- Good written and verbal communication skills with a good command of English, and ability to convey and comprehend message effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills and interacts well with all levels of staff and stakeholders
- Able to work and collaborate as a team player
- Strong computer literacy and systems aptitude; adept in using Excel.
