Location: Mississauga

Rate: $22.00-$23.00 (depending on experience)

Shift: Afternoon - Part-time Weekends (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)

We are currently looking for a CNC Machinist to join our busy and growing manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be engaged in elevating the department and company to the next level. The incumbent will be forward looking and thrive in a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Level 1 includes the following:

  • Operate Level 1 CNC machines as directed by the Supervisor/Manager
  • Read drawings
  • Use precision gauges and measurement instruments
  • Use machine shop tools
  • Efficiently produce parts to required tolerances
  • Adjust tool offsets
  • Deburr machined parts as required
  • Operate some manual machines such as; drill press, saw, etc. as directed by the Supervisor/Manager
  • Daily and weekly maintenance
  • Follow quality control practices in an ISO environment
  • Wear personal safety equipment as required
  • Maintain 5S practices
  • Record keeping as directed by Supervisor/Manager
  • Housekeeping as required
  • Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Level 2 (includes Level 1 plus the following):

  • Ability to operate Level 2 CNC machines
  • Ability to independently set up Level 1 CNC machinery
  • Program editing skills

Level 3 (includes Level 1 and 2 plus the following):

  • Ability to operate most CNC machines
  • Ability to independently set up most CNC machinery
  • Problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in manufacturing custom parts

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Level 1 – must have a minimum of 0-1 years of experience as a Machinist
  • Level 2 – must have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Machinist
  • Level 3 – must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Machinist
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Must be able to use various machine shop instruments
  • Poses excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal in English

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Certificate/Diploma or related work experience
  • Machining Courses or equivalent experience within a machine shop

  • 2 year(s): Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Machinist

Education

Preferred
  • Certificate or better in CNC Operation/Programming or related field
